They are not that much smaller, however.Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02396895652310296971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2622428321840240802.post-47943299121651687932012-08-27T17:50:11.275-07:002012-08-27T17:50:11.275-07:00Ron these are fantastic. Love that you found some that were actually white and fresh.

I cannot image how small these are since our Giant is anything but that.

Thanks for the tips on new camera for me, got the Nikon F510. Deliberately went later this year in order to see them, since they don't grow here in Washington, though, as you say, the other species is everywhere.

Maligne Canyon is a fabulous place for orchids. Cyp. parviflorum grows there, Coeloglossum viride, a number of Platantheras, etc. Tehre are also some other wildflwoers there including Lilium philadelphicum which we always go to see.Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02396895652310296971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2622428321840240802.post-76054993620546368832012-08-27T13:16:43.721-07:002012-08-27T13:16:43.721-07:00Those are really nice pictures. We found it close by the path in Maligne Canyon/Jasper.

We have pretty good numbers of Goodyera repens in Germany. They seem to love pine forests. However it is not as abundant by a long shot as Goodyera oblongifolia in your forests.

Unfortunately it is one of the native orchids I never really managed to get a real good picture of. I guess there is always next year. Makes me appreciate those pictures even more.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165108629079106354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2622428321840240802.post-53824959635682601512012-08-27T12:11:21.335-07:002012-08-27T12:11:21.335-07:00Thanks, as always, for your kind comments.
